Man kann nicht über genreprägende Acts in der Metal-Szene sprechen, ohne einen Mann zu erwähnen: Ross The Boss Friedman hat als Gründungsmitglied von Manowar and The Dictators Musikgeschichte geschrieben. Sein Einfluss auf Heavy Metal und auch Punk ist bis heute spürbar. Seit 2006 veröffentlichte Ross wieder traditionellen und rohen epischen Metal, der mit seinem ganz eigenen Stil Erinnerungen an die Manowar-Meisterwerke der 80er Jahre weckt.
